5. Aromatherapy: The scent of white sage is often used in aromatherapy to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and create a calming atmosphere. It is believed to have grounding and soothing properties.

How to use white sage:

To use white sage, you can follow these steps:

1. Obtain white sage: You can purchase white sage bundles or loose white sage leaves from spiritual or metaphysical stores, online retailers, or local farmers' markets. It is important to source white sage ethically and sustainably, ensuring it is harvested in a respectful and responsible manner.

2. Prepare your space: Choose a well-ventilated area where you can safely burn the white sage without setting off smoke alarms or causing any hazards. Open windows or doors to allow the smoke to dissipate.

3. Set your intention: Before lighting the white sage, take a moment to set your intention for the smudging ceremony. This can be a prayer, affirmation, or specific purpose you wish to achieve, such as clearing negative energy or inviting positive energy.

4. Light the white sage: Hold the white sage bundle or loose leaves at the end and light it with a match or lighter. Allow the flame to catch and then gently blow it out, so the sage is smouldering and producing smoke.

5. Smudge yourself: Start by smudging yourself. Use your hand or a feather to waft the smoke towards your body, starting from your feet and moving upwards. Visualise the smoke purifying and cleansing your energy field.

6. Smudge your space: Walk around your space, waving the smouldering white sage bundle or using a feather to direct the smoke into all corners, doorways, and windows. You can also use a smudging bowl or shell to catch any falling ashes.

7. Focus on specific areas: If there are specific areas or objects you want to cleanse, direct the smoke towards them while holding your intention in mind. This can include furniture, crystals, sacred objects, or any areas that feel energetically heavy or stagnant.

8. Extinguish the sage: Once you have finished smudging, gently press the smouldering white sage bundle or leaves into a fireproof container, such as a smudging bowl or shell, to extinguish the flame. Ensure it is completely extinguished before leaving it unattended.

Other ways to use White Sage:

Here is a unique and lesser-known way to use white sage:

1. White sage-infused oil: Create a sacred and aromatic oil by infusing white sage into a carrier oil. This can be used for various purposes, such as anointing, massage, or as a personal fragrance.

Here's how:

a. Gather a small handful of dried white sage leaves and a carrier oil of your choice, such as jojoba oil or almond oil.

b. Crush the white sage leaves slightly to release their aromatic properties.

c. Place the crushed white sage leaves into a clean glass jar.

d. Pour the carrier oil over the white sage leaves, ensuring they are fully submerged.

e. Seal the jar tightly and place it in a cool, dark place for at least two weeks to allow the white sage to infuse into the oil.

f. Shake the jar gently every few days to help distribute the properties of the white sage throughout the oil.

g. After the infusion period, strain the oil through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to remove the white sage leaves.

h. Transfer the infused oil into a clean, dark glass bottle for storage.

You can use this white sage-infused oil in various ways, such as applying it to your pulse points, using it for massage, or incorporating it into your spiritual rituals. The oil will carry the aromatic and energetic properties of white sage, providing a unique and personal way to connect with its essence.

It is important to note that white sage is considered sacred and should be used with respect and reverence. Remember to approach the use of white sage with respect, reverence, and mindfulness. It is a sacred practice that should be done with intention and gratitude. Our white sage is sourced ethically and sustainably, as overharvesting has led to concerns about its availability and impact on indigenous communities.
